I did Mechi Mahakali journey last two weeks. It was very interesting. First, I traveled Jhapa (Mechi) and then Darchula (Mahakali). Jhapa is eastern district and Darchula is fa west 's northern district. I have dream to travel Mechi and Mahakai.
On the occasion of Sahid of Sukhani, I went there. My main purpose was to see Mechi. There was a program of Dr Baburam Bhattarai (vice chairman of UCPN Maoist) in Darchula and Baitadi. As a journalist, I was member of this trip.
On side or our side Darchula and other side or India is Dharchula. Name, Place and face of people is almost same but nationality is different and strange. Facing different problems being Neplali but taking proud of nationality, these problem is not so hard for local people in Darchula. They are depending upon Indian market because ourside has not easy good road access.
I saw there different of rich and poor countries real picture there in Darchula. There iso pen boarder's benefit to us because most of the basic things comes from Indian side everyday.
We returned Baitadi from Pithauragadh, district of India, which full of development roads, electricity and other necessary needs. The way of road link to Jhulaghat, boarder of Baitadi district. There is also high depenency with India.
I felt after journey of Mechi and Mahalai that we are reach in natural resources but no long vision to change in reality. Taking enjoy of journey from both places, thought that 'Life is journey.'
